I have seen a lot of plastic water cups on Amazon and eBay. The transparent bottles are made of PC, while the PP ones are opaque or foggy and translucent, but some are relatively transparent. So, is the PP material opaque? Is there a problem with more transparent ones?

The more transparent water cup or box made of PP is generally random copolymer PP with transparent nucleating agent added. Of course, in addition to the transparent nucleating agent, many other additives such as antioxidants and acid absorbents will be added to PP. Many countries in the world have special laws and regulations for food packaging materials (industry generally referred to as food contact materials), including polymer materials and additives. In China, it is the State Food and Drug Administration, in the United States it is the US FDA, in the European Union it is EFSA, and in Japan it is JHOSPA. If the products produced by regular manufacturers, the additives in them all meet the requirements of these laws and regulations. PP is an internationally recognized material that can be used in food contact products. Among various plastics, such as PE, PS, PET, ABS, PC, PMMA, etc., only PP can be used for microwave heating.
