1. Grinding and polishing: Grinding is essential and the most commonly used polishing method. The surface of the 3D printed model will be relatively rough, which is determined by the molding technology of 3D printing. Although the 3D printing technology is getting better and better, the fineness is already very high, but it has to be said that the lines stacked on the FDM technology equipment parts can still be seen, especially when support is needed. At this time, sandpaper is needed for polishing.
2. Fine coloring: only full-color sandstone 3D printing technology can achieve color printing, and others can only print one color. However, full-color sandstone is rough and fragile, not as smooth as photosensitive resin.
3. Spray painting: It is one of the main coloring processes of current industrial-grade 3D printing products. Because the paint has a higher degree of adhesion, its application range is wider. In terms of color gloss blocking, affected by the original mirror surface of the product, the gloss is second only to the effect of electroplating and nano-spraying. If the customer needs to paint the appearance of the sample, generally according to the color number, the following paint options are provided:
High-gloss paint: Spray the paint surface according to the provided color number, with reflective effect, and the paint surface is smooth.
Matte paint: spray paint according to the provided color number, no reflective effect, and provide matte texture options.
Varnish: For transparent samples, the transparency of transparent samples can be improved by spraying varnish.
Silk screen printing: printing words or patterns on 3D printed samples. Customers only need to provide vector files or PDF files, color numbers, silk screen positions and other information, and can provide screen printing services such as patterns, text or symbols according to customer requirements.
4. Chemical treatment: use acetone vapor. It should be noted that ABS can be treated with acetone, while PLA cannot be polished with acetone. PLA uses a special polishing oil. Chemical treatment needs to pay attention to safety issues. Acetone is toxic, flammable, explosive, and irritating. It must be used in a well-ventilated environment with gas masks and other safety equipment.
5. Adhesive: Demolition printing needs to be glued. For bonding, it is best to apply glue in dots and bind with rubber bands to make the two contact surfaces contact closer during bonding. During the bonding process, there will inevitably be a gap or rough contact between the models. At this time, Bondo glue or filler can be used to make it smooth.
