Can 3D metal printing realize two kinds of metal printing at the same time?
attention:107  answer:1  offer a reward:0
Away from the problem with
Or print another material on the existing metal structure?

The structure to be printed is very simple, that is, a cylinder is covered with a steel pipe, which requires a good connection between the two, and the interface can ensure a certain strength.

Now I want to use 3D printing to complete the molding of the inner and outer layers at the same time. If it's very difficult, I'll first make the inner cylinder and print the Ti alloy on the outer side. Because it's biomedical field, biocompatibility, the outer layer must be made of titanium alloy.

Please help to provide some solutions and feasibility suggestions!

In theory, it is possible. Similar applications have been encountered before. Two metal powders can be mixed and printed in proportions. Here is an idea. To complete such a structure, powder spreading technology must not be used, but coaxial powder feeding technology should be used, which probably means the following:
1.The machining allowance for post-processing needs to be set aside before printing, and after printing is completed, use the CNC milling machine to finish machining the parts. What can be done at present is to use two powders to mix and print at any mixing ratio, and to achieve different powder mixing ratios in different parts (the powder is required), and it can also repair the defective positions of existing parts. One is more successful. The case is to repair the original labyrinth seal of the aircraft engine. This case is about 3 years ago, and it should be more mature now.

2.At present, there is also a low-cost wire metal printing technology, which is theoretically possible, but the combination of different metals may be a relatively big problem.

3.Of course, put forward another plan, whether to consider metal deposition technology, this technology should be more in the denture industry, the deposition of precious metals on the surface of stainless steel, the thickness can be 0.3-0.5mm. You can also understand.
