What is the development direction of polymer chemistry?

The whole world says that I can’t support myself even if I read my master’s and doctor’s degrees in polymer chemistry. I am thinking about my life as a freshman this year. I feel a little confused. I feel that polymer is okay, but I vaguely want to learn management. Dear friends, please help!
