I am currently studying chemistry in Germany with two directions:
1. Analytical Chemistry
2. Polymer Chemistry (Polymer)
I want to know which one is more suitable for me?
My situation is as follows:
I love computers, I have a certain programming foundation, I have taught myself front-end programming languages, I have my own website and an independent blog, and I also know a little bit of Java. Although I know these are simple beginners, I feel that I have good feeling in this and I am really interested in it.
I think if it is analytical chemistry, can it be possible to develop analytical instrument software? Because Shimadzu's software was used when I was doing Gas Chromatographie in the laboratory, I found it very attractive to me. I imagined that the editing of these software can also become my future direction? I don't know if there is a possibility of moving in this direction.
The other is polymer chemistry, here it is called Polymere Chemie. It seems that there are more things to memorize, but it will be easier to find a job in the future. As a polymer material, it is more popular than analytical chemistry in China, whether it is research or work. My father made environmental protection equipment, and many of the polymer materials in the devices were foreign patents, so the polymer also attracted me.
I always wanted to do Polymer before. Now I am a little hesitant to see if someone who has good experience can be found on the Internet or someone who understands can help me give some advices!
