When the German economic miracle just started and the chances of making a difference were good, Leander Widhopf founded the retail company Widhopf Industriebedarf in 1966.

He specialized in the new, technologically advanced plastic piping systems, which were then seen only as "substitutes" alongside conventional pipe systems. So it was hard to convince, but it ultimately led to success.
