Catherine is the owner and principal
Optometrist of Rosewall McCarthy Optometrist. The practice was opened in
April 2010 and continues to be loyally supported by the surrounding
community and by referring Eye Surgeons. Catherine qualified as a
Diagnostic Optometrist in 2005 from R.A.U, now known as the University
of Johannesburg. After practicing for a few years in Johannesburg, she
went abroad to Trinidad and Tobago (Caribbean West Indies) to take up an
Optometry position. It was here that Catherine gained invaluable
clinical skills and insight, as this region of the world has a high
incidence of eye diseases such as Glaucoma and Keratoconus and an
alarmingly high prevalence of diabetes and unusual eye conditions. After
living and working in Trinidad for just over 2 years, Catherine went on
to do her United Kingdom Optometry qualification in 2010 in which she
