COMPANY HISTORY
Tan Phu Plastic Joint Stock Company originated from Khai Quang Plastic Factor, had run by government in 1975. Experiencing ups and downs, on Aug 19th, 1977 according to Decision No. 612/CNn/TCQL signed by Minister of Industry Ministry at the same time. Tan Phu Plastic Joint Stock Company is official name from Jan 2005. Through ownership forms and developmental stages, now Tan Phu is one of the leading and prestigious manufacturers of Plastic Industry in Vietnam.
DEVELOPMENT OF TAN PHU PLASTIC COMPANY
1977-1986: Period of changes and orientation
After Vietnam’s national liberation, we took over the plastic manufacturing facility in fluctuated economy, politics and society state… At the first stage, our production was conducted by Vietnam Government. Mainly product is variety of packaging. LDPE plastic bag that ordered by units of National Union of Textile such as Viet Thang, Thanh Cong, ThangLoi, PhongPhu and Phuoc Long, Dong Phuong and products of footwear and healthcare, pharmaceuticals, and household plastic are made from HDPE, PP…

In 1984, our technique staff had researched to improve the machinery for PE mesh bag which is the most popular and common at that time. Thanks for this product, the name of Tan Phu has been broadly known in the domestic market during the period of simple marketing and communication tools. Besides, Tan Phu was the only company producing motorcycle plastic parts such as Honda rear fenders.
1987-1996: Periods of breakthrough
This is a remarkable stage in Vietnam plastic bag market. Our plastic crates had been introduced by the first time, and completely replaced wood crates. Tan Phu plastic crates perfectly met the need of the majority of domestic companies, especially Coca, Pepsi, Tiger, Heineken, Sanmiguel, SaiGon Beer, Chuong Duong, Ben Thanh, Tribeco, DanhThanh, etc… Besides that, Tan Phu also produced many other kinds of plastic products such as technical plastic products ( television shells, refrigerator stand, light trough,…), lubricant products’ plastic bag,…
1997-2006: Period of innovation and development
Promoting the advantages of a pioneer in investing series of large capacity injection molding machine, providing with numerous kinds of plastic crates, technical products. We have continuously invested in equipment to increase the market share of plastic can, vessel, jar, bucket to service the need of many big oil and gas companies such as Shell, BP, Mobil, Castrol, Caltex, Vilube, …
In 2002, Tan Thuan Plastic Company merged with Tan Phu Plastic Company. New Tan Phu Plastic Company is one of the first companies investing in machinery and equipment to produce PET bottles, promptly satisfy the need of using PET bottles in the food industry and plant protection sector.

The merger brought us about numerous of significant advantages in production and business activities. The company continued to invest in machinery and equipment manufacturing technology to provide multi – layers HDPE bottles for agricultural chemicals, especially focus on batteries cover to replace the import ones. Those are Tan Phu’s strategic products to increase our brand-name.
This period was also well known with many noticeable development issues such as export to other countries (Japan, Australia, American, Cambodia), invest in plastic printing machine line and hi - tech machinery and equipment for creating and repairing molds.
From 2007: Period of development
Tan Phu plastic has continued to invest in modern machinery and equipment to increase production capacity, promote the strength of key products, self – product molds for manufacturing, concentrate in new product development especially pharmaceutical product, broaden domestic market and export market.
With development and expansion of production scale, Tan Phu company successively established branches in Ha Noi and BacNinh and Long An, HCMC, expanded international cooperation with the construction of the plant in Laos with total area of 90,000m2, producing over 30,000 tons of finished plastic product per year in order to improve the production capacity of the company.
Towards the ongoing renewal and development, Tan Phu company has been implementing quality management system ISO 9001:2000 which now has been replaced by the latest version ISO 9001 – 2008.
