Founded in 1903 by master mechanic Karl Rehfuss. After the First World
War, expansion of the company as a tool supplier for the seal and plastics industry by his son, Ernst Rehfuss. During Word War Two, high-precision aircraft components were also manufactured. Expansion of production to include cutting and punching tools for the metal and electrical industries. After the death of Ernst Rehfuss in 1967, his son Kurt Rehfuss was the third generation of the Rehfuss family to take ownership of the company. In 1970 the company started to manufacture pressing and calibration tools for powder metallurgy. Also the ERB paper drill was manufactured and distributed worldwide. In 2007 the company was sold to the long-term operations manager and CEO Edgar Zimmermann and his sons Gunnar and Torsten Zimmermann.
