The founder of the parent company, Associated Traders Rubber Exporters Private Limited, Mr. H. L. M. Thawfeek, dating back from the early 1950's has brought to the company years of experience and practical knowledge which are invaluable assets. In 1964, his son, Mr. Mohamed Thawfeek Kamardeen joined the business and in 1986 started Associated Speciality Rubbers Private Limited. Having had the opportunity of associating with the organization from a young age, he has gathered a comprehensive knowledge in the production and marketing of both conventional and speciality grade rubber.

Mr. Shazni Kamardeen son of Mr. M. T. Kamardeen joined the business in 2001, following his father's footsteps. In 2007 he became the CEO of Prestige Rubbers Private Limited who manufacture technically specified rubbers. This company has been set up in collaboration with Mr. U. Hoffmann (formerly manager of NR department - Weber & Schaer Hamburg, Germany). This is a board of investment approved company situated in Sapugaskanda just outside the Biyagama export processing zone.
