Since the business was started in 1973, Bluemay has specialised in the production of nylon threaded rod, custom injection mouldings and precision plastic engineering components for manufacturing and assembling industries.

1973 – formation of the Company at the home of founders Bob and Val Butcher just outside Devizes, Wiltshire
1975 – first export orders
1975 – move to leasehold premises in Devizes
1977 – patent granted for the manufacture of Bluemay Buffalo bolts
1980 – registration of the Buffalo logo as a Trade Mark
1981 – acquisition of The Nylon Screw & Nut Supply Company, High Wycombe
1982 – introduction of computer systems
1983 – purchase of freehold premises at Lower Wharf, Devizes
1985 – start of redevelopment of Lower Wharf premises.
1986 – Joint winners, National Small Business Efficiency Awards
1987 – Bob Butcher receives MBE for services to industry
1987 – UK Winner, inaugural National Training Awards
1987 – launch of Bluemay Multicap division for plastic caps and plugs
1988 – acquisition of Weston Manufacturing Co., rebadged as Bluemay Weston Limited, manufacturer of non-metallic washers, shims and gaskets
1992 – acquisition of 6 acre site at Sells Green, Devizes for Bluemay HQ
1993 – Val Butcher receives MBE for services to industry
1994 – Appointment of family members Melanie & Martin Norman as Directors
1996 – UK Winner, National Training Awards
1996 – start of Sells Green development with warehouse construction
1998 – certification of systems to ISO 9002 quality standard
2006 – purchase of land at Pathfields, South Molton for Bluemay Weston HQ
2007 – acquisition of Rubber and Plastic Profiles Co, Sutton Coldfield
2008 – construction of new factory for Bluemay Weston
2008 – certification of systems to AS9100 aerospace quality standard
2010 – acquisition of AGM Plastics, Westbury
2013 – completion of first 40 years in business!
2015 – appointments of Liz Nash to General Manager, Amanda Robson to Commercial Manager and Richard Nash to Production Manager
2016 – aquisition of J J Williams (Gaskets), Maidstone, by Bluemay Weston Limited
2018 – completion of 45 years in business (so far!)
