The extrusion plant and corporate headquarters is located in Kirkwood, New York (near Binghamton) at the junction of Route 17 and Interstates 81 and 88 which allow easy access to highway systems for shipment of product.

Although American Pipe & Plastics was originally established to manufacture PVC pipe for the plumbing market, throughout the years it has diversified its product line and currently makes quality products for the telecommunications and power industries. This includes fiber optic conduit systems and fabricated fittings. In addition, the company produces its patented PVC AM-LINER ^{II ®} product for the repair of deteriorated sewer pipelines using trenchless technology.

American Pipe & Plastics' products are sold to telephone companies, cable companies, power utility companies, distributors, and licensees. As required, products are tested and approved by numerous agencies, municipalities, and the government.
